The dog training industry is full of buzz-words and labels used to describe training methods, without any regulation as to what they mean.
It can be pretty confusing to navigate, and makes choosing a professional a bit of pot-luck!
It was decided to outline the basis of the philosophies and ethical principles that Animal Affinity abide by, so that my clients have a clear understanding from the start of our relationship what we are about:
At Animal Affinity, we Promise to:
Our Mission:
"To help owners to understand and empathise with their pets, and to bring about change in pet and owner behaviour for the benefit of all"
As a behaviourist who values the modernisation of the industry, you will see that Leonie continues to do Professional Development events, to stay up to date with the latest theories and methods:
It is my goal to achieve full accreditation with ASAB (Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour) as a "CCAB" (Certificated Clinical Animal Behaviourist).
This is a prestigious goal, and requires a number of years of veterinary referred consultations before attending an assessment day, and examination of a selection of case studies. Proportionately few behaviourists have so far achieved this level, and it means that I must work hard and considerately with every case I take on.
At Animal Affinity we pride ourselves on not only our educational background, but also our highly varied and valued experiences, and professional attitude with clients and dogs.
We are professional problem-solvers!
